Retreat Holidays

The Spa of Pre St Didier is a unique treasure right in the heart of the Aosta Valley and is, luckily for us, only 20 minutes drive away. These thermal hot springs flow out from the heart of the mountain at a temperature of around 37°C and were known to the Romans. For over 150 years the spa itself has been one of the major tourist attractions of the valley, becoming the Italian Royal Family's favourite mountain holiday resort.

The warm thermal waters were used for many years to treat rheumatic and muscular disorders, as well as skin ailments and blood circulation problems. They were also famous for being relaxing, possessing tonic and fortifying properties and soothing both the body and the mind. The saunas and pools have been built with traditional materials, like wood and natural stone, according to local custom.

This timeless place adds a new meaning to the concept of spa, well-being and spiritual rebirth.

What to expect from a day at the Spa

From the door of you chalet we depart on a weekly basis for a full day at this luxurious spa. Once at the Spa you are given a bathrobe and flip flops and are free to explore as you please, giving you the chance to enjoy a total relaxation experience through thermal swimming pools, jeux d'eau, saunas, Turkish bath and relaxation areas.

The magical ambience of the indoor baths will take you directly to the outdoor pools where you can take in the breathtaking views or close your eyes and pamper yourself with the regenerating hydromassage jets and waterfalls that tone the muscles and stimulate circulation.

At the spa you will discover the Turkish baths, also called hammams, which is a high temperature steam bath. Ideal for cleansing your skin, reducing dead cells and regenerating new ones fighting skin ageing. The spa also has different types of saunas (dry saunas, biological saunas, aromatized saunas etc) each one of which offering different benefits.

Fragrances, colours, music, and a breathtaking view of a unique landscape make the relaxation areas something special. During your thermal experience we suggest you relax whilst lying on comfortable chaise-longues. Wrap yourself in a soft and warm blanket and enjoy a moment of relaxation in a setting of bygone times or relax on the heated benches of the Tepidarium as the Romans did.
