Open Yoga Retreat

What to expect

Whether you are a novice or long time yogi, this week long Yoga retreat is suitable for all ages and levels of ability and fitness. With the breath-taking backdrop of the Mont-Blanc Massif in this peaceful location, enjoyable and informative workshops are held within our chalet grounds in small groups to enable every individual to appreciate the true essence of Yoga and will give you the tools to bring the benefits of Yoga into your daily life.

Everyone is given a Yoga mat at the beginning of the retreat, giving you the freedom to continue to practice in your own time, wherever you please. Morning Yoga will take place before breakfast and will include meditation and a refreshing 'wake up and warm up' session to revitalise you and prepare you for your day. The dynamic afternoon Yoga workshops last for up to 2 hours, depending on the group, with the opportunity to rest for those who need it. There is also a shorter, gentle, evening session focusing on restorative Yoga. As this retreat is designed to cater for all levels of ability - all the sessions are optional and it is up to you how much or little you would like to take part in. Our friendly, experienced and dedicated instructor will take care of you individually as well as part of a group.

Our Instructor's preferred style of Yoga is a blend of Iyengar and Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga. Iyengar, a form of Hatha Yoga, is based on giving primacy to the physical alignment of the body in the poses, encouraging a good understanding of the mechanics and placement of the body. Once this balance is created in the body, it will be reflected in the mind. Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga is more energetic with relatively quick, smooth transitions between poses, toning and strengthening your muscles and bringing dynamics into each posture. Together these 2 popular types of Yoga create a perfect balance.

To make sure that you will get the most out of this retreat, our experienced instructor enjoys adapting sessions with your suggestions and yoga style preferences in mind.

Even within a week it is possible to identify substantial personal benefits and great well-being. You will have more energy, yet feel more relaxed and enjoy greater clarity and peace of mind.
