What is Tai Chi?
Tai Chi is an ancient holistic Chinese martial art that is primarily practiced for its health benefits. Ever-increasingly popular in the West, Tai Chi practitioners seek to utilise internal energy (Chi) for self-development, good health and self-defence. Emphasizing complete relaxation, it has been called 'meditation in motion'. Unlike the hard martial arts, Tai Chi is characterized by soft, slow, flowing movements.
Tai Chi is an ideal form of exercise for a busy life-style, whatever your age or level of fitness, and has many healing and stress-relieving benefits.

What to expect
This week-long retreat is a fun introduction to the fascinating Chinese art of Tai Chi. It is suitable for all ages and levels of ability and fitness.
With the breath-taking backdrop of the Mont-Blanc Massif in this peaceful location, workshops are held within our chalet grounds in small groups to enable every individual to appreciate the true essence of Tai Chi and will give you the tools to bring the benefits of Tai Chi into your daily life.
The morning workshop will be held before breakfast and will include meditative Chi Kung, gentle Tai Chi exercises and form work. There will also be late afternoon/early evening workshops leaving plenty of time to relax and explore the area. Classes are relaxed and informal and, above all, fun. As this retreat is designed to cater for all levels of ability - all the sessions are optional and it is up to you how much or little you would like to take part in. Our friendly and experienced instructors will train with you at a level that meets your personal needs, taking care of you individually as well as part of a group. They are more than happy to organise extra group sessions and provide one-on-one tuition, at no extra charge, making sure that you will get the most out of this retreat.
Even within a week it is possible to identify substantial personal benefits and great well-being. You will feel much more relaxed and enjoy greater clarity and peace of mind.
